The Classics Spin #23

Hi, folks!

It’s time for another Classics Club Spin! By now, you know the drill: participants post a list of 20 books on their Classics Club list. On Sunday 19th April, a random number will be selected by the Club. The challenge is to read whatever book falls under that number on your Spin List, by June 1st, 2020.

Here is my spin list:

  1. Fantomina and Other Works, by Eliza Haywood
  2. Moths, by Ouida (Maria Louise Ramé)
  3. The Female Quixote: or, the Adventures of Arabella, by Charlotte Lennox
  4. Fanny Herself, by Edna Ferber
  5. The Persimmon Tree, by Marjorie Barnard
  6. The Love-Child by Edith Olivier
  7. Four Frightened People, by E. Arnot Robertson
  8. The Real Charlotte, by Edith Somerville
  9. The Hearing Trumpet, by Leonora Carrington
  10. I’m Not Complaining, by Ruth Adam
  11. Marriage by Susan Ferrier
  12. The Outward Room, by Millen Brand
  13. The Play Room, by Olivia Manning
  14. Saraband, by Eliot Bliss
  15. A Simple Story by Elizabeth Inchbold
  16. The Group, by Mary McCarthy
  17. The Holiday by Stevie Smith
  18. I Capture The Castle, Dodie Smith
  19. Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, by Elizabeth Taylor
  20. The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett

Spin me a number, Classics Club!

And happy reading, everyone! Which book would you like to see win?:)

Yours truly,

  1. I loved I Capture the Castle and Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont, and I also really enjoyed The Group. The Real Charlotte is on my to-read list for this year so I selfishly hope you get that one! I’m also curious about Fanny Herself, I read So Big by Edna Ferber this year and I really enjoyed it. Good luck with your spin pick!

  2. I’ve only read 1 from this list, “I Captured the Castle”, which is excellent. Most of them I haven’t even heard of. There are just SO many wonderful books out there! Hope you like your spin.
